While BAT’s vapour products are neither authorised smoking cessation devices nor marketed for that purpose, the PHE report suggests that vaping is the most popular aid used by people trying to quit smoking – in 2020, just over a quarter of people used a vapour product for this reason.
It is clear that smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke need access to evidence-based information to further their understanding of what less risky*† alternative products are available to them and help them make an informed decision.
